Sweet Glutinous Rice Dumpling is a Chinese traditional dessert. Normally, the glutinous rice dumpling serves with brown sugar ginger syrup especially when the weather is cold. However, due to the hot weather in Malaysia for the whole entire year (always summer), I decided to change the recipe with using the dried melon and rock sugar for my version of sweet glutinous rice dumpling. And, it is a very light and healthy recipe. Hope you can try it.
甜汤圆是华人传统里不可缺少的一道甜点。丛所周知,汤圆大多数是与甜姜汤绝配。由于马来西亚常年炎热的天气,所以我就做了一些改变,用冬瓜糖和冰糖取代热气的甜姜汤。这是一个简单又底热量的甜品。希望你可以试试看。
Ingredients:
2 cups Glutinous rice (Sticky rice) flour
1 cup Candied Melon
Rock Sugar
Pandan leaf (optional)
Method:
- In a big bowl, mix the glutinous rice flour with water until it forms a big ball.
- Divide it equally into small pieces and lightly roll it into a ball shape (about size of 10cent) using both palms. Set aside.
- Heat up a pot with 4 cups of water and put in the candied melon, pandan leaf (if have) and rock sugar. (Cook about 3 mins and set aside)
- Heat up another pot of boiling water and cook the dumplings. Once the dumplings float to the top, transfer it out and into the sweet soup.
冬瓜糖甜汤圆
材料:
2杯糯米粉
1杯冬瓜糖
冰糖 适量
香兰叶 (如有更好)
方法:
1. 用个大碗加入糯米粉及适量的水揉和成粉团。
2. 把粉团分成小丁块,然后用手将小丁块搓成小圆粒。(大概10仙硬币大小)
3. 用小汤锅煮沸4杯清水及加入冬瓜糖, 香兰叶(如有)和少许冰糖。(煮成甜汤大概需要3分钟,备用)
4. 接着,准备另一个汤锅,将水烧开后放入汤圆。待汤圆浮上水面,稍过一会儿即可捞出及加入甜汤里。
